Kitchen Facility Supplied to Dua Lipa Live Stream Event
We’re so excited to be back, with a great team at an amazing event, and the Field Kitchen was just what we needed. The install and event have gone smoothly, the crew and artists have been great, and I can’t wait for the next one!
Lucy Bell has had an incredible career in event catering – travelling the world and feeding some of the best-known artists in the world under the banner of her company The Pantry Maid. But in March 2020, she was hit just like the rest of the live entertainment industry when worldwide lockdowns went into effect.
“It’s been a hard time,” Lucy said. “The events world just stopped. I’ve had a lot of time to myself and it’s so strange – the excitement and buzz of events are like nothing else, it’s what we do, and it’s been really difficult.”
But Lucy’s stellar reputation meant she was asked to cater to one of the first live events in the UK following the outbreak: a live-streamed performance from superstar Dua Lipa, with several high-profile guests, including Kylie Minogue, in November of that year.
Lucy needed a kitchen capable of feeding crew and performers over a five-day production setup, practice and performance period. She needed a versatile kitchen set up to support a menu that would change daily and would be serving three meals a day to the crew.
Lucy turned to PKL for her kitchen and, after conversations with her sales representative, decided a Field Kitchen and Cold Room would be the best setup for her and her team of tops chefs. The pair perfectly complimented her new food truck and helped her serve hundreds a day.
