We were really impressed with how PKL listened to us and our needs and provided a unit that was a more structured and safe environment for our chefs that has helped us provide consistently high-quality food to our young people. We can’t praise PKL enough as an organisation for the advice, help and setup they’ve provided.

PKL worked with Scout Adventures at their Gilwell Park headquarters throughout 2018 to help them create a catering base that would allow them to wow their visitors no matter what the weather, whilst still protecting the authentic, outside catering feel that is so important to the Scout movement.

The Scouts had been catering to their visitors out of marquees for a number of years, and wanted to improve their offering, both for their visitors and their catering staff. They turned to PKL to provide a safe, dry, professional catering solution for their 2018 season.

PKL provided a double bay kitchen unit with a full production setup, including a combi oven, salamander grill, bratt pan, six burner and two turbofan ovens. The double bay kitchen also had a dedicated dishwash area and three door undercounter fridge and freezer.

The setup allowed the site to provide consistently high-quality catering, quickly and efficiently, said site manager George Lewis.
